The Embassy of the Slovak Republic celebrated its National Day

The Ambassador of the Slovak Republic in the Republic of Turkey H.E. Mrs. Anna Tureničová hosted on September 20, 2017 a Reception on the occasion of the National Day – the Constitution Day – and the Defense Forces Day of the Slovak Republic. The event took place at Ankara Palas, a historical building in the heart of the old town. Official important guests included the Deputy Undersecretary of the Ministry for EU Affaires Mr. Ahmet Yucel, Deputy Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Mr. Mehmet Kemal Bozay, high ranking representatives of the Ministry of Defense and the General Staff of the Republic of Turkey. Heads and members of the Diplomatic Missions and representatives of the Military family in Ankara honored the event with their valuable presence. In her address the Ambassador of the Slovak Republic reminded of a recent success of the Slovak diplomacy when the Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic H.E. Mr. Miroslav Lajčák took over the distinguished position of the President of the General Assembly of the United Nations in New York. She stressed the high standard of bilateral relations between Slovakia and the Republic of Turkey in many areas of their development. The Ambassador mentioned that for Slovak people Turkey is one of the most popular tourism destinations in the world. The Slovak night in the prestigious premises of the Ankara Palas included a special awarding ceremony. The prominent Turkish flute soloist Mrs. Şefika Kutluer was presented the Golden Medal of the Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic. A unique concert by Mrs. Şefika Kutluer (Flute) and Mrs. Katarína Turnerová (Harp) from Slovakia made the event a special and memorable one.
