Independence Day and the Opening of the Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Moldova in Antalya

On Friday, August 28th, 2015 in Belek city, Republic of Turkey took place the official inauguration of the Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Moldova in Antalya province. The opening ceremony was held in the presence of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey, H.E. Mr. Mevlüt ÇAVUȘOĞLU, the Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of the Republic of Moldova, Mr. Anatol VANGHELI, the Deputy Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey, Ambassador Ali Kemal AYDIN, the Governor of the Antalya province Muammer TÜRKER, the Deputy Mayor of the city of Antalya, Mr. İbrahim EVRIM as well as the Ambassador of the Republic of Moldova to the Republic of Turkey, Igor BOLBOCEANU. The inauguration were attended by the Heads of the Diplomatic Missions of South Africa, Cuba, Georgia, Germany, Jordan, Latvia, Montenegro, Uganda, Ukraine, Tajikistan, Tunisia, the Ambassador Rıfat KÖKSAL, Representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkey in Antalya region, other representatives of the Turkish Ministry, members of the diplomatic corps accredited in Ankara, Honorary Consuls of other states to the Antalya province, local authorities, businessmen, as well as the representatives of the Moldovan diaspora. <br><br>In the opening speeches, the officials of both countries have emphasized the importance of increasing number of the Honorary Consulates in Turkey, mentioning that the province of Antalya is annually visited by a considerable number of tourists from the Republic of Moldova, as well as, Antalya province represents a great potential for economic cooperation. The Honorary Consul of the Republic of Moldova in Antalya, Mrs. Diyar IÇKALE GÜLTEKİN has projected the priority directions of her activity ones of the most important being to offer necessary assistance to the citizens of Moldova in Antalya and boosting bilateral contacts at the local and central level, as well as promoting the economic relations between both Moldova and Turkey. <br><br>On the same day, the Embassy of the Republic of Moldova to the Republic of Turkey offered an official reception in Antalya on occasion of Moldova’s national holidays – Independence Day and Language Day. The guests were served with the national dishes and tasted Moldovan wines from the ”Mileștii Mici” winemaking company attested as the ”Biggest wine cellars in the world” by the Guinness Book in 2008. In the same framework the pictures of Moldova landscape and culture have been presented to the public. Furthermore, the guests enjoyed the concert of Moldovan singers - vocal group "Brio Sonores" and Pan Flute performer Marin Gheras.
